Dear Shambhala Friends,
We hope you are all healthy and finding ways to stay grounded and supported. The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting us all on so many levels, and we share the aspirations of so many that the global community emerges from this crisis with renewed care and appreciation for one another. We want you to know that we are all working hard to ensure that our staff are cared for and supported as we follow government guidelines to shelter in place.
At the same time, we are also facing the challenge of meeting the financial obligations of each of our Centres. It can come as no surprise that closing down and cancelling all programming for the coming months has created a huge financial challenge for each of us and, with the support of the Shambhala Board, we are sending this message to all Shambhala members worldwide to ask for your help. We know the Land Centres have been places of deep personal and spiritual development for so many of you, and we want to ensure that when this crisis is over, our Land Centres are still there to support and nourish our community.
If participating in Land Centre programs and retreats has benefited your life, we are asking you to invest in the health and sustainability of the places you love. Whatever you can offer to support the Land Centres during this tenuous time, whether it’s beginning or increasing monthly donations or a one time gift, your gift has never been more important.
It is only with many community members stepping up to give that our precious Land Centres will survive this extraordinary and groundless time.
We are committed to doing whatever we can to preserve these sacred places for generations to come and are grateful everyday for you, the community of Shambhala Warrior practitioners.
With care and appreciation for you all,
The Shambhala Land Centre Executive Directors:
Konstanze Brockstedt, Dechen Chöling
Michael Gayner, Shambhala Mountain Center
Catherine Neill, Dorje Denma Ling
